Adobo All-Purpose Seasoning
An all-purpose seasoning typically including garlic, oregano, black pepper, herbs, and spices.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup kosher salt
- 1½ tbsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1½ tbsp onion powder
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cumin
Method
- Add the salt and oregano leaves to a mortar and pestle and grind the salt down until it is a fine powder.
- Transfer the salt-oregano mixture to a mixing bowl and add the garlic, onion powder, black pepper, turmeric, and cumin.
- Use a small whisk to blend the spices together into a uniform mixture.
- Transfer the finished Adobo seasoning to a glass container using a funnel. Cover the seasoning with a tight-fitting lid and store in the pantry. Use on grilled food, vegetables, as well as in soups, stews, and rice dishes.
